Plot[]
Nathan looks forward to spending Christmas with his brother Monty and the rest of the family, but finds himself being called out. He is met by Alyx Vance, who reveals G-Man's intentions on taking over City 17. It all clicks into place and Nathan realises that G-Man must have survived the explosion as well. Nathan works out G-Man whereabouts which he pin-points at Isaac Kleiner's lab (as he used it before) and heads over there with Alyx.
They arrive at the lab to find Kleiner dead with an axe sticking out of his chest. G-Man is sat calmly and smugly tells Nathan that since being sent back into the past also he has taken it upon himself to fix the "mistakes" as part of his takeover of City 17. Although he failed to kill Nathan, he has managed to critically injure Gordon Freeman, has killed Wallace Breen again and also kidnapped Hannah Robertson. When Nathan demands where the girl is, G-Man refuses and Nathan believes that she is dead. G-Man reveals he will be using Dr Kleiner's portal to make himself powerful and meddle with time and space to meet his own needs and no one will stop him. Alyx attempts to go at G-Man in fury, but G-Man pulls out a gun on both her and Nathan. Saying his goodbyes, he is about to pull the trigger but Kleiner's pet headcrab Lamarr jumps from behind and latches onto G-Man's head. In agony and terror G-Man panics and fires in the air and tries to wrestle the creature off his head. In quick succession, Nathan grabs the axe stuck in Kleiner's chest and hacks it into G-Man's instead - killing him instantly.
